Holy Hell, does this INSPIRE US!! We are feeling the vibes this weekend and are SO ready for a Sunday filled with Flea Markets and fabulous finds, and if you're just not in the mood for that at this very moment, trust us when we say that you will be when you are done meandering through this insanely cool California Home. Amber Interiors is one of our very favorite Interior Designers, who's style we just can't get enough of. It's a perfect and effortless blend of vintage, bohemian, modern and it's all so ultra CALIFORNIA. This space is all those things and just leaves you feeling completely inspired...and in awe. Read on friends, read on!
Amber Interiors decorated a new home for fashion trend forecaster Susan Anderson and her husband Timmy, a music producer, head of A&R at Capitol Records, and co-founding member of Ima Robot, the designer had the opportunity to mix her signature California-eclectic look with the edgy, fashion-forward accessories her clients had collected over time. The result? Laid back, boho, and impossibly cool.
This space is BRIGHT WHITE and filled with ample amounts of natural light, which is one MAJOR thing that definitely draws us in, but even more so are the contrasting elements, and vibrant pops of color and texture. Well, AND that outrageously ridiculous (in the best of ways) Steel door...showstopper.
What we really like about this design is that you can really FEEL the client's personality right away. You can tell they are super stylish, a little retro bohemian and a touch rock and roll. This space speaks of a personality and you can feel that, which is the ultimate magic in really GREAT Interior Design. Amber Interiors effortlessly blended the clients' lifetime collection of artwork, rock and roll paraphernalia and things collected in travel, which is in itself an art to be mastered. “Our goal was to create a casual California aesthetic with rock ’n’ roll undertones,” Susan tells us. “We wanted a house that felt similar to the way we dress—lots of white, black, and leather—with a bohemian print direction.” With crisp, white paint and custom simple, solid sofas as a base, Lewis layered in vintage kilim rugs and pillows (both staples of her work) to ground the space and infuse a bit of pattern and worldly flair.
THIS BENCH. Somethin' else, I tell ya. A piece like this can take an ordinary space and make it so incredibly alive, inspiring and totally authentic. These are the types of pieces that are really worth searching for in Flea Markets, Estate Sales, even sifting through Etsy. So well worth the hunt! Don't like that part of the design? That's exactly where a solid designer comes into play, this kind of thing is what we LIVE for!
We don't even know where to start with which part is our favorite here...is it those lead glass windows? The extra long subway tile?? Maybe those copper pendants...no wait, it HAS TO be those chairs, then again, maybe that INSANE rug??! No, no, no, it's the black island. Ah Hell....it's a TOTAL & UTTER work of ART!
