Deciding which pieces to showcase can often be the most difficult part. Try and think about what speaks to your style. What are you passionate about? For many people, family photos are the main subject of their gallery wall. But don't be afraid to mix in unexpected elements that relate to your hobbies or life history. We love incorporating objects such as hats, baskets, beads, etc. to add dimension to the wall. A mixture of old and new items is another way to give your gallery wall a bit of character. We also love incorporating different types of art, such as photography, paintings, sketches, embroidery, etc.

Once you have selected your artwork, it's time to start creating your layout. We like to lay everything on the floor and play around with the arrangement. Once you have an arrangement that you're happy with, we highly suggest tracing each frame onto craft paper and taping it on the wall so that you can physically map out where each piece will hang. Adding this step will take more time, but it helps prevent turning your wall into a bulletin board.

There are endless ways to arrange your artwork, but to get you started we've included a few of our favorites below!

Just remember that photos are moveable and holes are patchable, so don't be afraid to give it a go!
